Welcome to the Genealogy Homepage
of Pat & Gene Rowell

This is a combined Home Page for Patricia & Eugene Rowell and will show the family names we've collected as a part of our genealogies. Links will take you to other favorite home pages or information pages relating to our family research. It's a shame, but we are not including our mother's family lines at this time because of abuse by certain elements who steal "your mother's name."

Pat has been working on her PADDOCK-SCOTT family lines and other details of her genealogy for over 30 years. When Pat married Gene, (2nd marriages after the untimely deaths of their respective first spouses), she began dragging Gene into the exciting world of genealogy, and now he's busy on his ROWELL - WOOLLEY - HOWLAND lines. Pat's daughter "is somewhat interested" in continuing her ALLEN family lines. Gene's daughter has been bitten by the genealogy bug of late, in working on her ROWELL lines. One of Gene's two sons has demonstrated an interest in continuing the family research, as time allows, on some of the more distant family names. This has become a real *family* oriented hobby!

We have decided NOT to put up our entire databases at this time because they change so often! But, we will offer of lists family names and places, and some of the time periods our families were residing in those areas, along with some of the more enlightening aspects of historical notes collected on certain ancestors.

If you find even a small possibility that your family connects in any way to one or more of our ancestors, please contact us at the e-mail address below. Please let us know about as many of your sources as you can, so we can compare and exchange our sources with you.

If you have a reocities.com genealogy home page with families that fit into ours, please let us know if you would like to be mentioned in our Favorite Links List, and be sure to give us your full and correct homepage and e-mail addresses, as well as the connecting ancestral family name(s) we share.

Thank you for your patience! As we progress, you can click on these links to find the collected ancestral names. And don't miss the CA-GOLDRUSH pages

This seemed appropriate to what we do.

***********The Dash***********

by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of his friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the second with tears,
but he said that what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth,
and now only those who loved her know
what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars, the house, the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard,
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left.
(You could be at the "dash mid-range.")

If we could just slow down enough to consider
what's true and what is real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And...be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash...
will you be pleased with the things they say
about how you spent your dash?
